Ahmadzai Wazir Tribe of South Waziristan Agency - Tribes of FATA, Pakistan

Ahmadzai Wazir is a big Pashtun tribe of FATA, Pakistan. It is a Clan of the Darwesh Khel Wazir Super-Tribe, however, for all administrative and tribal purposes, they are considered a separate tribe. Ahmadzai Wazir tribe is based in South Waziristan Agency alongside the Mehsud tribe. The center of Ahmadzai Wazir population is the Wana-Birmal-Toi Khulla belt. However, Ahmadzai Wazirs also live in Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank and Afghanistan (Khost).
The Ahmadzai Wazirs are divided into three major clans i.e.
1) Shin Khel
2) Kalu Khel
3) Umarzai (this is a smaller clan compared to the former two)

    hussain khel has three clains.
    1)ethikhel or hathikheil.
    2)umar zai.
    3)seth kheil or sayd khaeil
    3)emarzai or umar zai
    there are musakhels but branch of kathikhel not a separate clain directly from hussain khaeil

    the biggest clain of AHMAD ZAI IN S WAZIRISTAN ARE ZALIKHEL BUT THE BIGGEST CLAIN IN ALL THE AMAD ZAI WAZIR IS HATHIKHEIL ie 18000 out of totaltotal of thirty thousand Ahmad Zai in the oriogional Durrani period count.

    The clain of Hathikhel under the pirbakhai jerakai is actually ZERAKAI a separate branch of Alikhonai or Alikhan khail but share the share of land in Bannu area as is Waligai Sharing with MESSO KHAIL
